■ Challenge Content (Product)
We will provide chairs (stools) that fit in with beautiful objects like a picture frame by making full use of the handwork of our picture frame workshop.
The scale of picture frame manufacturing in Japan is shrinking, and furthermore, Fuchu City, located in a mountainous region is on the list of municipalities that may disappear resulting in a shortage of workers.
In response to this problem, we are repurposing our picture frame manufacturing technology to make furniture, creating products that suit modern lifestyles and play a supporting role in daily life like how picture frames enhance pictures.
■ Challenge Content (Experience Plan)
We will offer a tour where you can experience a region with beautiful scenery that makes you want to make a picture frame to put it in.
We are considering offering experiences such as picture frames making, walks in the mountain scenery that nurtures manufacturing, and food experiences that makes use of mountain produce.
*This project is part of the Co-Design Challenge Program.
