The Japan Association for the 2025 International Exposition, Japan (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Expo Association’) and ORIX Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: INOUE Makoto) are pleased to announce that the official name of the ”Advanced Air Mobility” take-off and landing site (port) facility* at the Expo site, which is sponsored by ORIX Corporation, has been decided as “EXPO Vertiport”. “Advanced Air Mobility” is part of the in the “Future Society Showcase Project” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”).
‘Vertiport’ is the name of the take-off and landing sites for ‘Advanced Air Mobility’. After discussions, EXPO Association and ORIX Corporation decided to combine it with “EXPO” to make the name “EXPO Vertiport” in the hope that the Expo, which is expected to attract a large number of visitors, will help to popularise the term “Vertiport”.

The Future Society Showcase Project is a general term referring to a group of projects that provide experiences to a wide range of participants and visitors from Japan and abroad by utilising technologies and services that support the theme of the Expo, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” for the development, operation, exhibition, and events of the Expo site, in the form of “demonstrations” that give a sense of the future beyond 2025, and “implementation” that is suitable for the Expo.
