2025.06.13 New Walking Route To Open! Visitors Arriving at the East Gate Can Walk to and Enter via the West Gate! Number of Morning Entry Slots To Be Increased!

From Monday 16 June 2025 until further notice, a walking route will be opened for West Gate entry ticket holders to walk from the front of the East Gate to the West Gate. This will allow the number of morning entry slots at the West Gate to be increased. Please see below for further details.

Overview
Up until now, the West Gate has been reserved for visitors using shuttle buses, park-and-ride (P&R) services, taxis, chartered buses, etc. from various stations and other locations. This has limited the number of entry slots due to traffic capacity. It is often the case that the station shuttle buses are fully booked shortly before the visiting date.

From Monday 16 June 2025 until further notice, the number of morning entry slots for visitors at the West Gate will be increased by the opening of a new walking route. This route will allow visitors to enter via the West Gate by walking there from in front of the East Gate (just outside Yumeshima Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line) along the Expo site perimeter road sidewalk. (The route is approximately 1.6 km long, takes about 30 minutes, and will be open from 8:30-12:00.)

Specifically, this walking route will only be available for West Gate entry ticket holders to walk from the front of the East Gate to the West Gate (Expo staff will be monitoring the use of the route). Morning West Gate entry slots for this purpose will in principle be made available for reservation on the official ticket website starting at around 8:00-9:00 two days in advance (timing may vary somewhat). Please be aware that the station shuttle buses and other buses are expected to be fully booked at that time. So visitors should book on the assumption that they will have to walk from the front of the East Gate.

The new walking route will allow visitors to enter via the West Gate in the morning even when making a last-minute reservation, so please use the walking route from the East Gate to the West Gate on mornings when the station shuttle buses, P&R parking spaces, etc. are full.
