2025.07.29 Changes to On-Site Personal Mobility for Visitors Service

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) will implement the following changes to the “Smart Mobility Expo: On-Site Personal Mobility for Visitors” service, part of the Future Society Showcase Project at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”), effective from 1 August, 2025.

– Project Name:
 On-Site Personal Mobility for Visitors

– Date of Changes:
Friday, 1 August 2025

– Changes:
Before Change: Visitors can borrow personal mobility devices and use them around the general visitor areas.
After Change: Visitors will be able to test ride the personal mobility devices in front of the east and west rental stations and at “experience sessions” in specific locations.

– Reason for Change:
The number of visitors to the Expo site are expected to increase during the second half of the Expo. This is expected to result in congestion in various areas of the Expo site, in particular the space under the Grand Ring, making it difficult to ensure safety while using Personal Mobility devices. In addition, the prolonged use of Personal Mobility devices may increase the risk of heatstroke as parasols cannot be used while riding the devices.
Therefore, the current rental service will be terminated and replaced by a new service in front of the East and West rental stations, which will provide more visitors with the opportunity to experience Personal Mobility.

– Test Ride Times:
 ・Test rides at rental stations: 9:00, 10:00, 11,00, 12,00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 18:00, 20:00
 ・Experience sessions: 17:00, 19:00

– Fee: free of charge

– Reservations: not required (same-day reception only)

* The exhibition at the Robot Mobility Station will continue.
