As Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) nears its closing on 13 October 2025, an increasing number of visitors are using taxis to get to the site. As a result, queues of vehicles waiting to disembark from taxis can reach the north and south viaducts, sometimes even reaching the Yumeshima Central Highway. This affects not only other Expo transportation such as shuttle buses, but also general traffic.
The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) has been trialing the use of taxis etc. (including hire cars and privately-owned vehicles) at Terminal 2, in addition to the existing drop-off point at Terminal 1, since Thursday, 25 September 2025. Starting Wednesday, 1 October 1, 2025, the permitted usage times at Terminal 2 will be extended. Please note that this will also result in changes to waiting areas and queueing instructions for visitors arriving at the West Gate in the early morning.
Due to the lack of security guards and first-aid stations in the early morning, we are unable to fully ensure the safety of visitors early in the morning. Please arrive at a reasonable time and follow the instructions of security guards to ensure your safety.

3. Permitted Drop-off Times
(1) Transportation Terminal 1
- After 6:45
*The entrance to Transportation Terminal 1 opens at 6:45. Waiting at the entrance before this time is not permitted. Please use Transportation Terminal 2.
(2) Transportation Terminal 2
- After 5:00
*The Perimeter Sightseeing Road is closed before 5:00, so you cannot enter Transportation Terminal 2 before this time.

4. Waiting Areas for Early Morning Visitors
(1) From 5:00 to 6:45
- Transportation Terminal 2
*From 6:30, visitors will be guided to the West Entrance Plaza by security guards.
(2) After 6:45
- Transportation Terminal 1, in front of the Sakurajima Station shuttle bus stop
*Visitors from Transportation Terminal 1 will be directed to the back of the waiting line at the West Entrance Plaza after the visitors from Transportation Terminal 2 (1) have been guided to the West Entrance Plaza.
