A Tale of Land, Water, and People

The Sultanate of Oman Pavilion at Expo 2025 offers a serene and refreshing escape, much like a tranquil oasis amid the bustle of the Expo site. Even before entering, visitors are gently cooled by a fine mist spray, setting the tone for a thoughtfully designed experience. The standout architectural feature is the corridor with a glass ceiling, above which water flows gracefully—an elegant and symbolic prelude to the pavilion’s central theme. Inside, the first exhibition space dazzles with light and glass installations that mimic the movement of water, enhanced by natural carvings and reflective surfaces that create a seemingly infinite, immersive environment.

The narrative deepens in the second room, where a powerful LED film titled “Where Water Meets Earth” illustrates Oman’s rich heritage through its enduring relationship with water and land. The journey concludes in a peaceful outdoor garden showcasing native Omani flora and artistic installations, blending nature with culture. Despite the desert inspiration, the pavilion remains surprisingly cool and comfortable, thanks to advanced, yet understated, cooling technologies. Guests can unwind with a cup of traditional Omani kahwa from the café, making this pavilion not only a cultural experience but also a haven for relaxation and rejuvenation.
