Official Participants’ Pavillion Tour|Brazil Pavilion: A Journey of Life, Rhythm, and Color

The Brazil Pavilion is bustling with visitors every day!

Experience 15 minutes of art, nature and the soul of Brazil.

The Brazil Pavilion will take you on a mesmerizing 15-minute journey of art, nature, and culture.

You first step into a dark room filled with strange, limp figures covered in cryptic text. From the ceiling mysterious plant-like objects hang, giving the impression of a dense rainforest canopy. Slowly, a single light grows into a full moon, illuminating the space and breathing life into the figures. As the moon brightens, the figures grow to reveal people embracing, a capybara, a fish, and other life forms. As the moon brightens, the figures pulsate in a poetic dance to the sounds of animals, the wind and the heartbeat of the forest, symbolising the cycle of life and death and the importance of co-existing with nature. More observant visitors will notice the walls are covered in inflated plastic bags – a poignant commentary on the impact of plastic pollution.

As you move to the next space, you are greeted by a vibrant gallery of Brazilian art. The glittering gold walls, colourful artworks and samba music immerse you in a carnival-like atmosphere. Visitors are encouraged to join in the party and express themselves by donning

indigenous-inspired face paint and colorful “parangoromos” – a fusion of traditional Brazilian parangolé capes and Japanese hagoromo. Some lucky visitors may even get to take these beautifully designed clothes home to serve as a fun memento emphasizing Brazil’s creative spirit and generosity.

Take a commemorative photo with the vibrant art wearing “parangoromos”!

Feel free to try out indigenous-style body art!

If you look closely, you will see a message on the mirror wall.

The Brazilian Pavilion urges us “to act” through vibrant visuals.

The journey circles back to the first room, now transformed by blazing sunlight and dramatic lasers. The atmosphere intensifies until, suddenly, the light dims and the once-lively figures collapse. This striking finale symbolizes the vital role of the sun and nature in sustaining life.
