The Monaco Pavilion, with its circular design and red discs hanging from the roof, is eye-catching even from a distance. With the theme “Take care of wonder,” the pavilion emphasises how we are all a part of nature and the importance of finding wonder in and taking care of our natural world.
The pavilion sign plays on this theme appearing half submerged in the water, representing humanity immersed in nature.
The layout also follows suit, consisting of a main building and numerous smaller attractions dotted throughout a garden. On the second floor of the main building, you can use virtual reality observatory binoculars or your smartphone to experience famous places in Monaco from the port to the Prince’s car collection!
The garden is free to enter even if there is a line for the main building making it convenient and especially great for families with children. Truly packed with too much fun to list here, highlights include the gigantic wooden board game that is both adorable and educational, the half physical half digital animated picture books in the Monaco Green Lab building, and the ocean building with illustrations of 180 marine species that appear and disappear as the lighting changes. The garden also features a zone dedicated to bees, highlighting their vital role in biodiversity.
Accessible via a separate entrance, the top of the main building is a stylish wine bar. This secluded spot is the perfect place to take a break and relax for a while.
So whether you are looking for a fun and educational spot for your family, or a sophisticated place to take in the scenery while enjoying fine wine, the Monaco Pavilion should definitely be on your Expo 2025 itinerary!
