The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) will collaborate with local governments exhibiting pavilions or participating in events at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) through the EXPO2025 Digital Wallet, and use the Expo as an opportunity to develop new tourism services using Web3 NFTs*.
These initiatives are expected to create new use cases for tourism services in municipalities using the Web3 service through the Expo.
The tourism services that make the most of each municipality’s special characteristics are as follows.
* NFT (Non-Fungible Token): Irreplaceable digital data created based on a blockchain. This rally will use SBT (Soul Bound Token), a type of NFT technology that cannot be tampered with and cannot be transferred to another party. This is expected to be a new technology that can be used for participation certificates, etc.

Hyogo Prefecture
(1) Project name:
　Hyogo EXPO Digital Stamp Rally
(2) Details of collaboration with EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet (business collaboration service):
　A stamp rally using the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet application will be held six months before the opening of the Expo. The rally spot is “Hyogo Field Pavilion”. The Hyogo Field Pavilion is a programme in which local people promote the appeal of  sustainable initiatives being implemented in various parts of the prefecture (230 projects certified as of 2 Oct. 2024).  The stamp rally is a way to visit, see, learn and enjoy the sites (fields) of these initiatives.

Nara Prefecture: Nara Organising Committee for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (municipalities due to participate: Yamatokoriyama City, Kashihara City, Gojo City, Gose City, Ikoma City, Uda City, Heguri Town, Oji Town)
(1) Project name:
　The second round of the NFT stamp rally in Nara Prefecture linking to the Expo.
(2) Details of collaboration with EXPO2025 Digital Wallet (business collaboration service):
　Nara Organising Committee for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan will collaborate with the municipalities of Nara Prefecture (planned participating municipalities: Yamatokoriyama City, Kashihara City, Gojo City, Gosho City, Ikoma City, Uda City, Heguri Town and Oji Town) as the second phase following the ‘First round of NFT stamp rally in Nara Prefecture connected to the Expo’ using the Expo Digital Wallet in Kashihara city’.

Shiga Prefecture
(1) Project name:
　The Expo is where the world meets Shiga. ～Shiga Prefecture x Expo NFT Stamp Rally
(2) Details of collaboration with EXPO2025 Digital Wallet (business collaboration service):
　The NFT Stamp Rally will create a link between Shiga Prefecture and the Expo site. NFTs will be distributed at tourist attractions in the prefecture from around November in conjunction with the tourism campaign ‘Let’s go♪ Shiga, Lake Biwa’! The NFT’s design will feature a certain famous person.  Furthermore, when the Expo starts next year, new NFTs will be available at the Shiga Prefecture booth in the Kansai Pavilion! The Expo is not only at the Expo venue. Why don’t you encounter new attractions in Shiga Prefecture?

From around November 2024 to the end of October 2025.

Wakayama Prefecture
(1) Project name:
　1.Wakayama Pre-Expo, 2. 100 days before the Expo event
(2) Details of collaboration with EXPO2025 Digital Wallet (business collaboration service):
　Limited NFTs will be distributed at the venues of pre-Expo momentum-building events in Wakayama Prefecture. Plans are also in place to use NFTs inside and outside the Expo venue.

Municipal initiatives * In alphabetical order
North Osaka municipalities: (Toyonaka City, Ikeda City, Suita City, Takatsuki City, Ibaraki City, Minoh City, Settsu City, Shimamoto Town, Toyono Town, Nose Town)
(1) Project name:
　Touring Northern Osaka! Digital stamp rally around north Osaka Prefecture
(2) Details of collaboration with EXPO2025 Digital Wallet (business collaboration service):
　With the aim of fostering momentum for the Expo and promoting the attraction of the north Osaka region and attract visitors, the municipalities of north Osaka Prefecture have joined forces to organise an NFT stamp rally at a total of 20 attractive tourist spots in each municipality. At each spot, NFTs with a design associated with the location can be obtained on the EXPO 2025 digital wallet. Participants who have collected NFTs from all 20 spots will be rewarded with a specially designed NFT as a bonus.

Osaka City: Osaka City Museum Organization
(1) Project name:
　Promotion project for museums and art galleries using NFTs
(2) Details of collaboration with EXPO2025 Digital Wallet (business collaboration service):
　Since November 2024, the Osaka City Museums Organisation has issued NFTs featuring the ‘Osaka’s Treasures’ held by the six museums it operates, in an effort to attract more visitors to the museums. Furthermore, from FY2025, they plan to cooperate with the neighbouring businesses of each museum to attract more visitors to the region as a whole. This promotion will create opportunities for visitors to enjoy Osaka’s history and culture more deeply by integrating digital technology and cultural assets and providing new experiential value through  NFTs.
