The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition has launched “EXPO 2025 Virtual Expo ~Yumeshima Islands in The Sky~,” an app that can be enjoyed on smartphones and PCs.
As a collaborative project to connect the Virtual Expo and the Expo site at Yumeshima, “Explore the Expo in Real and Virtual Ways! A Quiz Journey with QuizKnock” will launch on Saturday, 23 August 2025. In addition, we will delve into the world of the app at an event titled “Everything You Need to Know About the Virtual Expo: Exciting Discoveries! Open the Door to a New Expo!” that will be held from Sunday, 24 August.
* An Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan admission ticket is required to enter the Yumeshima venue.
* You must download the Virtual Expo app (free of charge) in advance.
* The customer is responsible for any carrier costs incurred when downloading and using the app.
Overview of “Explore the Expo Physically and Digitally! A Quiz Journey with QuizKnock”
・Content: This is a new type of quiz that allows you to fully enjoy the Expo both virtually and in real life! There are 10 questions in total: 5 AR quizzes that use photos as clues to help you locate and participate in quizzes around the Expo site at Yumeshima, and 5 VR quizzes that you can take from home on the Virtual Expo app. The VR quiz also comes with special bonuses for participating and for answering all questions correctly.

・Content: This exhibition about the Virtual Expo will be held at Commons-E at the Expo site. At the exhibition, you can discover the world of the “Yumeshima Islands in the Sky” from the Virtual Expo app. Furthermore, as a token of appreciation to everyone who has used the Virtual Expo app, there will be limited-edition stamps and a commemorative photo spot with a “Pop-up AR MYAKU-MYAKU.” Visitors who post an image of themselves playing the app on social media with the hashtag “#MyDiscoveryAtVirtualExpo” will receive a limited edition novelty item.

About “EXPO 2025 Virtual Expo ~Yumeshima Islands in The Sky~”
“EXPO 2025 Virtual Expo ~Yumeshima Islands in The Sky~” is a virtual version of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan site. Visitors can enter the world of the Expo as avatars, tour virtual reproductions of the pavilions and event facilities, and enjoy virtual exhibits and events from anywhere in the world 24 hours a day. In addition, at the real Expo site on Yumeshima Island, they can enjoy content that utilises AR. Visitors can prepare for their visit to the real Expo site, visit pavilions they missed out on when they visited, and relive their favourite pavilions through 2D content and mini-games.
