2025.09.27 3rd “Virtual Expo Complete Guide Exhibition” To Be Held From 28 September! Plus Limited Edition Badge Give Away! Get to know the world of the Virtual Expo app and enjoy it to the fullest!

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) launched “EXPO 2025 Virtual Expo ~Yumeshima Islands in The Sky~,” an app through which the Expo can be enjoyed on smartphones and PCs.
We are pleased to announce the third instalment of the “Virtual Expo Complete Guide Exhibition: Exciting Discoveries! Open the Door to a New Expo!” panel exhibition. This exhibition showcases the world of the Virtual Expo app and will be held from Sunday, 28 September 2025, at Commons-E at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan site. We look forward to seeing you there.

Overview of the “Virtual Expo Complete Guide Exhibition”

This exhibition about the Virtual Expo will be held at Commons-E at the Expo site. At the exhibition, you can discover the world of the “Yumeshima Islands in the Sky” from the Virtual Expo app. Furthermore, as a token of appreciation to everyone who has used the Virtual Expo app, there will be limited-edition stamps and a commemorative photo spot with a “Pop-up AR MYAKU-MYAKU.” The limited-edition badge giveaway that was so popular during the first and second instalments will also be continued. Visitors who post on social media with the hashtag “#MyDiscoveryAtVirtualExpo”, complete the Pavilion Guide, or experience AR MYAKU-MYAKU content at specific spots around the Expo site will receive a limited edition special colour badge.
In addition, papers for the Virtual Expo’s limited-edition stamps will also be distributed.

Download the Virtual Expo app, post a screenshot of you playing the app on social media (X, Instagram, or Facebook) with the hashtag “#MyDiscoveryAtVirtualExpo,” and show the screenshot to on-site staff at the event venue.

MYAKU-MYAKU badge (monochrome)

Download the Virtual Expo app, complete the “Pavilion Guide”, and present the Virtual Expo app’s Pavilion Guide to staff at the venue.

MYAKU-MYAKU badge (special colour)

<Conditions>
Download the Virtual Expo app, experience the AR MYAKU-MYAKU content scattered around the Yumeshima site, and present a photo of your experience (such as a photo of AR MYAKU-MYAKU or a photo you with it) to staff at the venue.

* Photos taken at the “Pop-up AR MYAKU-MYAKU” commemorative photo spot at Commons-E is not eligible for the MYAKU-MYAKU can badge (special colour).
* The colour of the badge will vary by day and cannot be selected.
* Limited to one badge per person (multiple experiences will not allow you to collect multiple colours).

How to experience AR content

You can launch your chosen AR content by selecting “AR Content” from the “Menu” in the upper left corner of the Virtual Expo app’s home screen.

– About the Virtual Expo App Update
The Virtual Expo app was updated on Wednesday, 17 September 2025. This update has improved navigation, allowing you to warp directly to each pavilion from the map or Pavilion Guide. This should be a powerful boost for completing your Pavilion Guide, so please try to complete it!

– About “EXPO 2025 Virtual Expo ~Yumeshima Islands in The Sky~”
“EXPO 2025 Virtual Expo ~Yumeshima Islands in The Sky~” is a virtual version of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan site. Visitors can enter the world of the Expo as avatars, tour virtual reproductions of the pavilions and event facilities, and enjoy virtual exhibits and events from anywhere in the world 24 hours a day. In addition, at the real Expo site on Yumeshima Island, they can enjoy content that utilises AR. Visitors can prepare for their visit to the real Expo site, visit pavilions they missed out on when they visited, and relive their favourite pavilions through 2D content and mini-games.

– About the Future Society Showcase Project
The Future Society Showcase Project is a general term referring to a group of projects that provides experiences to a wide range of participants and visitors from Japan and abroad by utilising technologies and services that support the theme of the Expo, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” for the development, operation, exhibition, and events of the Expo site, in the form of demonstrations that give a sense of the future beyond 2025, and implementation that is suitable for the Expo.
