Designing the ‘Chair’ of the Future – a chair made from a single board with a yield ratio of 99%.

■ Challenge Content (Product)
DotsandLines Co., Ltd. will design the “chair of the future” and lease the products produced in cooperation with the Tsubame-Sanjo area to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
In Japan, there is a social issue of the disposal of large quantities of blank materials due to mass production. By returning to the simplest form, we aim to realize manufacturing that minimizes the generation of waste materials as much as possible before recycling by providing an opportunity to reconfirm and reconsider what is being thrown away in the shadow of mass production and what does not need to be thrown away.

■ Challenge Content (Experience Plan)
Tsubame City and Sanjo City in Niigata Prefecture has thriving manufacturing industries.
We are planning an “experience tour to create miniature products” in order to share the technology used to make the chairs to be offered to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the background of the production, and the culture of the Tsubame-Sanjo area. (in cooperation with Factory Information Center companies)
We aim to reduce the generation of waste materials as much as possible before recycling, and to convey the comprehensive appeal of Tsubame and Sanjo’s manufacturing.
