Reports
【Reflection】
The International Wellness Tourism Expo (iWT) was held at
Tokyo Big Sight from June 25 to 27, 2025. As Japan’s only BtoB
trade show dedicated exclusively to wellness tourism, iWT has
become an essential platform for businesses aiming to
integrate travel and health.
The exhibition brought together a diverse range of
participants from across Japan and overseas, including hot
springs and spa resorts, ryokans, glamping operators, healthy
food providers, outdoor and nature experience companies, yoga
and meditation programs, as well as sauna and mindfulness
services. More than 10,000 visitors attended the event,
actively engaging in business meetings and exchanging insights
on the future of wellness tourism.
In addition to commercial exhibitors, the show welcomed
municipalities, travel agencies, medical institutions, and
DMOs, highlighting the broad scope and interdisciplinary
nature of wellness tourism. The presence of such a wide
spectrum of organizations emphasized both the growing
diversity of the industry and the significant opportunities
for collaboration.
The conference program featured 12 specialized seminars
covering key themes in tourism and wellness. Furthermore,
networking sessions involving local government representatives
and tourism bureaus offered valuable opportunities for
dialogue, idea-sharing, and partnership building. These
sessions underscored the role of iWT as not only a business
platform but also a forum for shaping the future of wellness
tourism in Japan and beyond.
Overall, the International Wellness Tourism Expo 2025
successfully showcased the richness of wellness-related
content and reaffirmed the importance of integrating
well-being into the travel experience. It provided both
exhibitors and visitors with meaningful connections,
knowledge, and momentum to drive further growth in this
rapidly expanding field.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
After the exhibition, as the organizer of the Wellness Tourism
Expo, we continue to collaborate with industry
stakeholders—particularly the speakers who contributed to this
year’s seminars—in order to further promote the development of
wellness tourism. In addition, based on the valuable feedback
received from participants, we are committed to refining the
event and exploring better ways to ensure it serves as an even
more meaningful platform for the growth of the industry.
