Reports
【Reflection】
Through this programme, we deepened our understanding of the
similarities and differences between Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM) and Japan’s Kampo medicine. We also gained
clear insights into their current roles in Japan and
Singapore, especially in well-being and healthcare.
The session was hosted by Eu Yan Sang, a trusted leader in
integrative health with 146 years of experience, blending TCM
with Western medicine. Speakers included healthcare leaders
and TCM experts from both countries, providing diverse and
valuable perspectives.
Participants gave very positive feedback, appreciating the
clear and informative discussions. The programme helped raise
awareness of TCM’s value, particularly among Japanese
audiences less familiar with it, and highlighted the growing
importance of integrated healthcare.
We look forward to using the knowledge gained to further
promote TCM’s role in both Japan and Singapore.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
This programme clarified that TCM is widely used in
Singapore’s food and wellness sectors, reflecting its deep
cultural integration, while in Japan, Kampo medicine is
increasingly incorporated into the formal medical system as
part of integrative healthcare combining Western and Eastern
practices.
As Southeast Asia’s leading TCM company, Eu Yan Sang is
dedicated to expanding the role of TCM in both countries. In
Japan, we are exploring new opportunities to promote TCM-based
wellness through food and nutrition, aiming to complement
existing healthcare approaches. Meanwhile, in Singapore, we
continue to strengthen collaborations with medical
institutions to advance preventive healthcare and holistic
treatment models.
Building on the positive response and strong networks formed
through this programme, we will actively pursue partnerships
and initiatives that support the growth of integrative
medicine and contribute to the well-being of communities in
Japan and Singapore.
