The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is implementing the
Smart Life Project (SLP), a national initiative under the
slogan "Let's Extend Our Healthy Lifespan!" The
goal of the project is to enable all citizens to lead healthy,
happy, and active lives until the very end of their lives.
The project encourages specific actions in four key areas:
"moderate exercise," "balanced diet,"
"no smoking," and "medical checkups and
screenings." It works in cooperation with businesses,
organizations, and local governments participating in the
project to promote the further extension of healthy
lifespans.
As part of this initiative, the "Let's Extend Our
Healthy Lifespan! Salon" will be held as an event for
companies and other organizations involved in the SLP to share
information, exchange ideas, and discuss best practices in
health promotion.
In this salon, in addition to lectures by experts, there will
be presentations of case studies from companies and
organizations engaged in health promotion, providing valuable
insights and fostering discussions to support the advancement
of future health initiatives.
Reports
【Reflection】
In this program, best practices from four organizations
engaged in health promotion were introduced, with a focus on
those participating in the Smart Life Project. The initiatives
presented by each organization were beneficial to the
participants and were expected to enhance their understanding
and awareness of health promotion.
Following the presentations, participants shared information
and exchanged opinions regarding future challenges and goals
for health promotion, based on the best practices introduced.
Due to the extensive content of the first part, the time
allocated for discussion in the second part was shortened, and
some participants expressed concerns about the time
distribution. Nevertheless, the program as a whole proved to
be meaningful.
Furthermore, through interactions among participating
organizations, new possibilities for collaboration have begun
to emerge, and synergistic effects are anticipated in future
initiatives. This program is expected to serve as a catalyst
for fostering and enhancing awareness of health promotion.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
Through this program, participating organizations were able to
share the challenges and achievements encountered in the
process of promoting health initiatives. This exchange helped
raise awareness of health promotion among the participants and
is considered to have contributed to motivating future
activities.
By continuing similar initiatives, it is expected that both
individuals and companies will further cultivate and enhance
their “health awareness” and “motivation,” ultimately leading
to the development of a nationwide movement for better health
across society.
In addition, the award program launched in July, which
recognizes outstanding initiatives in the prevention of
lifestyle-related diseases and the promotion of health by
organizations, will continue to highlight best practices and
promote their broader dissemination, thereby amplifying their
impact throughout society.
