This program provides a forum for international dialogue to
address global challenges. Focusing on the future of the Earth
and key themes such as biodiversity, decarbonization,
renewable energy, and the circular economy, the program aims
to bring together experts and leaders from around the world to
discuss and make recommendations for the realization of a
future society. This program is not just an event, but aims to
“create a viable global innovation cluster” through activities
before and after the event. As "Beyond the Expo", it
also aims to contribute to the resolution of social issues in
a sustainable manner. Participants will consist of the
world's leading universities, research institutes,
companies, experts, and start-ups, and are expected to share
their respective technologies and knowledge and deepen their
collaboration. Through participation in the theme week,
participants are provided with the opportunity to share their
technologies and knowledge with the world and become part of
the global innovation ecosystem.
Reports
【Reflection】
University leaders discussed academia’s role in addressing
global challenges like biodiversity and sustainability. DOIC
shared its vision and activities, followed by expert dialogue
on how academic institutions and the DOIC ecosystem can
contribute through collaboration. A guest from Saudi Arabia,
host of Expo 2030, joined to explore international cooperation
toward a brighter, sustainable future.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
DOIC is a co-creation platform among academia, industry, and
government using the digital metaverse, which will continue to
expand beyond Expo. Its future direction involves shifting
from simply showcasing university seeds to focusing more on
solving social issues—namely, the future of the Earth and
biodiversity. With participation from institutions like
Princeton University, DOIC aims to become a global platform
that connects Japan with diverse regions to address
environmental and biodiversity challenges worldwide.
