【Reflection】
The “Algeria Energy Days,” held at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, was
conducted as a small-group session, providing participants
with an accessible insight into Algeria’s energy initiatives
while also encouraging reflection on global sustainable energy
challenges.
Algeria is a country with vast desert regions and abundant
solar and wind resources. During the session, initiatives
making use of these natural resources, such as solar and wind
power projects, as well as hydrogen utilisation, were
presented. The session also included quizzes and interactive
Q&A, allowing participants to deepen their understanding
in an enjoyable and engaging atmosphere. The small-group
format fostered close interaction, enabling a two-way learning
experience and helping participants appreciate the scale and
potential of Algeria’s initiatives.
In addition, the session touched on topics such as renewable
energy, hydrogen utilisation, international cooperation, and
community engagement, allowing participants to recognise
Algeria’s proactive commitment to advancing sustainable energy
solutions.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
Following the Expo, Algeria continues to steadily advance the
energy projects and renewable energy initiatives introduced
during the session. Efforts include the expansion of solar and
wind power in desert regions and the development of hydrogen
utilisation to achieve sustainable energy. In addition,
community participation and international cooperation are
being promoted to contribute both locally and globally.
Insights and initiatives shared during the session are also
informing future policy and project planning, positioning
Algeria as a reliable partner in the energy sector.
Through these continued efforts, Algeria is strengthening its
role as a regional energy hub and taking forward a proactive
path toward a sustainable future.
